ICTCR provides informal and formal consultation and education in the areas of research methods and study design and basic training on clinical research methods and ethics. A formal 13 session course on research topics is available for individuals desiring more extensive exposure to clinical research. ICTCR will also provide seminars and rounds on specific topics at the request of program directors. Residents may contact ICTCR for personal assistance with protocol development and for assistance in accessing expert guidance with statistics and linking into technical services that may enhance the quality of the clinical research project. Assistance with manuscript preparation is also available. Research done by residents should not be limited to retrospective reviews. Excellent contributions to medicine can be made in areas of epidemiology, pharmacology and evidence-based-medicine research, for which we can offer connections with skilled scholars. |
